Is an old YouTube account the same as an aged channel?

How is the channel transferred to me?

What if the transfer doesn't go through?
If we can't hand the channel over as described, you get a full refund. Once the transfer is complete and you have full owner access, the channel is yours to run; if YouTube later restricts or terminates it, there's no refund or replacement — that's why we check every channel for active strikes before listing it.
Can I rename the channel and change its look?
Yes. After the transfer you can change the name, handle, avatar, banner and description like any channel you own. The registration date and the channel's history stay.
