Do I need an old Gmail account to receive an aged YouTube channel?
No. The age belongs to the channel, not to the email. An aged channel on LegacyChannels is a Brand Account channel: it keeps its 2005–2012 registration date on any Google account, including a Gmail you created today. A bought "old Gmail" is actually a risk — its original owner can recover it, and Google often blocks such accounts with phone verification on a new device.
- The registration date is a property of the channel and never changes, whichever Google account owns it
- Use your own Gmail with your own phone number and 2-step verification turned on
- One Gmail can own several Brand Account channels — YouTube doesn't remove channels for that
- Never put a paid channel on a Gmail someone else created: the previous owner can recover it with their old phone or recovery email
